Covid is known to be transferrable to animals and back. There's no way to kill it without measures that make the lockdowns look pretty or futuristic tech we don't have (no 'vaccinate everything' won't work, unless someone feels vaccinating every cave bat in safe third-world countries like Afghanistan in a reasonable timeframe is actually possible).
