I recall a study that found near-sightedness to arise in children whose retinas don’t get much sunlight; i.e. they spend a lot of time in artificial light indoors.
I wonder if infrared usefulness in age-related eyesight decline works through a similar mechanism under the hood.
Is going outside for a while equivalent to this intervention? Probably low-e windows are making NIR therapy necessary.
