I guess everyone is proposing they don’t defraud their customers.
This is not a simple mistake. In a properly run company, the amount of people who had to sign off on a change like this is not low and a good portion of them would have to wilfully decide that not informing the customers until after delivery was the best strategic decision.
2) Give then a discount of some kind.
