Movies: - 12 angry men - Whiplash - Prestige - American Beauty - The Thing - V for Vendetta - The Grand Budapest Hotel - Gone Girl - Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - Parasite - ... Tarantino or Scorsese movies

Anime: - Howl's Moving Castle - Spirited Away

Not a movie but both great series: - Love, Death & Robots - Black Mirror

Not feature film, but you should check out "Vincent". The first short film of Tim Burton which, if i'm not mistaken, got Disney to fire him because "it was too dark for kids". Personally i would have loved it if i watched it when i was a kid.

International movie suggestions:

Soorarai Potru - An army man tries to start a Low Cost Carrier Aircraft company

Sardar Udham - Jallianwala Bagh Massacre on Non-Violent protestors

Jai Bhim - IMDB's most recent top rated film.

Really like this old Christopher Lee movie. It was on Amazon streaming I believe.

1917 (2019) for a look into world war I, Colossus the Forbin Project (1970) for a look at a machine intelligence take over, Koyaanisqatsi (1983) for feature length motion essay on our lives.

"Naked Space"

Go to RottenTomatoes and any movie in the genre of your choice with over 70% fresh is going to be a good bet.

Watched Dune last night and it was really good. I wouldn’t watch it in theaters though, too long

Catch Me If You Can by Spielberg (2002)

Good Will Hunting by Van Sant (1997)

Portrait of a Lady on Fire. The ending made me hyperventilate and cry out loud.
