Biden's science guy is driving folks mad

Lander is a very contentious guy. His reputation has gone down tremendously over time (and even when it was good, he was widely hated).

This article shows he just continues with his existing playbook. Nothing surprising, really. He will probably be let go by the admin at some point and replaced by somebody less contentious.

“January 2021, a progressive group called "500 Women Scientists" wrote an open letter in Scientific American arguing that Lander “is not the ideal choice for presidential science adviser.”

I read that letter, just now. The complaint is that he is a male, and even worse, he is white.

More recent complaints seem to come down to territory. He is inserting himself into fiefdoms like HHS where nobody invited him. Arguing for more pandemic planning funding, 15 rather than 10 billion of the 1.75 trillion social spending package.

Are there other issues with this guy beyond his skin color and failure navigating swamp politics?
