I'm 3 months into a 3 year part time Software Development university course. First module is Java and using Eclipse. Can someone recommend something else I should be learning in line with this article/your view?
I like intellij ultimate, it's not expensive, it's a netflix subscription essentially, but better, endless fun :). They have built in educational materials, and you can easily jump through libraries to see how a function works, all the way down. It's fantastic. The MIT courses suck, even if they weren't evil.
Anyone looking to support MIT should look up Aaron Schwartz and then go elsewhere.
