If adults want to make unhealthy choices and poison themselves then let them do it. And let farmers use their land to grow whatever they want. Does that make me a tobacco sympathizer?
Seriously though both tobacco and a lot of other “whatever they want” crops have mountains of externalized costs and societal consequences
Finally we'd be able to get blackcurrant in this country again. Shame about the pine blister rust and consequent devastation to forests and logging, but that's the price of freedom I guess.
