It puts you in this weird state of, "well, what would I do when confronted with the thieves" or wondering if I even wish ill of the person who stole my bike, or think about what the appropriate punishment would/should be. Maybe they were in a tough situation, maybe they were just a thievin' type of individual. When I think about it in terms of cost, it's hard to be angry about a cost so small. When I think about the value lost though, it's a different story. A bike is an object that becomes such an intimate and integral part of your life that when it disappears it is like losing a pet or a friend, or the person you sit next to on the bus every day.
I wouldn't hurt the person who stole my bike, and I probably wouldn't shout at them, I'd just want to hear from them what brought them to that point, just to put those feelings at rest. God damn I miss that bike :/
