I don't necessarily disagree with using web tech, but I do think store-and-forward is a lot more resilient than an always-pull model like the web. I mean, that's what a CDN is essentially: content is stored and forwarded to other CDN instances so that a user can consume it.
Yes, like exactly like that. That website may look a bit too hobbyist, but that setup could definitely be used for other websites as well.
