Facebook failing to protect users from Covid misinformation, says monitor

> Alex Cardier, the UK managing director for NewsGuard, said Facebook and Instagram were failing to protect their users from Covid-19 and vaccine misinformation despite having been warned “repeatedly”.

But that is not Facebook's or any other company's duty. It's a communication / ad platform, not a state/pharma propaganda platform. If people want to talk about negatives of these products, Facebook should let them. Guardian is awful.

“Protect users from misinformation” is now doublespeak for “censorship”?

The UK has a military propaganda unit to battle Covid misinformation. They might even achieve levels of compliance they would have had if media and politics ignored the issue.
