I don’t have an adblocker on my phone, so maybe I’m to blame but holy crap, the number of ads on that page are the opposite of “normal human consumption.”

a) Just out of interest, why no adblocker?

b) I just checked with everything disabled, I got 2 small ads over the whole thread, what did you get?

He probably got a whole bunch of ads spanning the entire page, talking about Affinity Photo.

AdGuard is quite usable without subscription.

You can install Firefox Focus and select that as an adblocker for Safari. Alternatively, DuckDuckGo has an iOS browser with built-in adblocker.

According to they AppStore description, DuckDuckGo only blocks trackers. Doesn’t say anything about adblocking.

You can't afford a one time purchase of $1.99 for Wipr on your iPhone ?

Downloading and running ad code costs more money than just paying and installing an ad blocker, especially since they're incredibly cheap if not free.

Thank you. People shouldn't use Twitter to write blog posts. They are so annoying to read and the prose is so broken, forced into small little pieces.

And (to the sibling reply) people shouldn't use a browser without ad blockers in 2021 :-)
