Android 12L and new Android APIs and tools for large screens

Nearly every review of an Android tablet I've read goes to lengths to describe how unproductive the medium-sized-screen Android experience feels. Again and again, I see reviews saying, nice hardware, terrible OS.

I don't know if this will make enough of a difference, but trying to stem that tide of opinion seems semi-mandatory to me.

Instead of fixing the myriad issues with Android, they do stuff like this, for phones that nobody buys.

Geez. Fix basic navigation. Fix the apps getting restarted on rotation. Fix the fact that you need 100 support libraries to build anything. Get rid of "context", which feels like something from 1998.
