Potato Toys (1931)

as a permanent potato lover, i have to ask:what kind of recipes do "potato based diet" do communities around the world have? i live in a place where rice is the major food source and that is the base of all lunch and dinner. everything else is had "with rice". i wonder how potato is consumed on a daily basis (i would love to) except the fast food stuff. errgh

Is it just me or do the potatoes look unusually hairy?

I’m not Russian but we used to make similar characters and animals out of chestnuts.

"Son, bring your toys for dinner!"

They are beautiful.

The first image appears to be some kitchen gear. But I'm unfamiliar with it. Is it a toy home distillery?

No potato battery? I am disappoint.

Reminded the old movie from the same period about a Revolution hero, him using potatoes to teach tactics https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rS64aAQEgME

If this was posted as a joke about the supply chain problems, it's not as funny as you think it is. I assure you, it's much, much funnier.

Any source beyond the tweet?

I didn't know Twitter was around in 1931 (⊙_⊙)？
