Shopify will acquire Snap to dominate social commerce, says NYU business prof

Before you fall for the clickbait, this is simply a deranged 'prediction'. Here's why:

If Snap rejected offers from Google and Facebook, why on earth would they accept an offer from Shopify? Even if the shareholders wanted that to happen the co-founders have more than 96% of the voting rights.

Good luck with forcing such a deal to go through against their wishes.

In fact it is the other way round. Snap is the one going 'shopping' and doubling down on commerce. [0]
