The Billionaire Tax: The Worst Tax Idea Ever?

That was a lot of setup for 1-2 paragraphs of why it’s not a good idea.

I’m not sure the preceding text really illuminated why billionaires wouldn’t be paying much from the proposed changes, which was mentioned in the conclusion.

The idea of “you’re next” with respect to taxing unrealized capital gains is speculative but not unreasonable

The only compelling point in this entire article is the question of private vs public businesses. It does seem like taking or keeping companies private is going to be a big loophole in this law.
