Amazon’s Worst Human Resources Problem

I have also been trying to diversify where I buy stuff. It's difficult. Some things you can only find in other giant chains like WalMart. I did diversify a number of my larger purchases, but I'm not sure the likes of WalMart or Best Buy are actually any less dystopian. I heard Costco treats its employees pretty well, but there aren't that many things you can buy there.
Also, to get Amazon to reconsider its ways of doing business, people need to get off AWS. That's the real money maker for them, and therefore the only real leverage. But again, in favor of what? Google? I'm not sure it's any better ethically in the light of recent revelations. Microsoft? Massive technological suckage and ineptitude, and also dubious ethics. Smaller players like Digital Ocean? Viable for some things, but not for others. Sounds to me like we're out of options.
I don't know how to get around it. The systems we've built are just too scaled and too powerful to work against. It's a consumer Borg.
"The extent of the problem puts in stark relief how Amazon’s workers routinely took a back seat to customers during the company’s meteoric rise to retail dominance"
