As a web developer who's a keen electronics hobbyist I definitely feel this too. But how did you make the switch? In London, there are few embedded roles, and they seem to pay worse than web developer roles. On top of that, companies seem to be looking for people who already have extensive professional experience of embedded development (which is fair enough, I guess).
