FYI, before the creation of modern Israel, the Negev desert was almost entirely populated by Arab Bedouins. Nearly 100,000 fled during the ethnic cleansing of 1948.
My parents were forced to leave Haifa in 1948 under threat of death and they were among the 750,000 forced out of the country and their land stolen.
Of the Bedouins still living in the Negev, half live in government-designated towns and cities, much like Native reservations in the United States, and the other half live in unrecognized villages.
Can you share more about where your parents ended up after they were forced out our Haifa?
We are way off topic now, but I really wonder if there is hope to be found for peace? I have often thought of what life must be like for a child born in the Gaza Strip today.
