I hope this gets read by more that the cadre of people who already program in Perl. As I am writing this there are no other comments. I hope someone beats me for first comment. (Just checked I am first and alone)

I first used Perl in 1991ish to Parse a Command and Control Language for Military Naval ships,based I what I learned out of the Programming Perl 1st Ed.

Documentation matters. Really good training materiel can elevate a language.

In spite of Perl's loss of attention to Python et al. it remains in my tool box and used when appropriate.
