If it's Firefox on Android long-pressing the back button gives you a history list that allows going back. It's a bug that happens in many sites, where the history gets a bunch of duplicate entries of the current page for some reason.
I think it is not a bug but abuse of history. Especially when landing on some shady site via google - good luck backing out. Right click on "BACK" helps as it shows the history. Sometimes with MANY duplicate entries.
It’s not a bug, a huge amounts of sites are doing this now, or hijacking the back button completely to send you to an ad or their homepage.
There are probably sites doing this maliciously but the cases I've seen are weird things like only some subreddits and even then not always. I suspect there's a bug somewhere in a commonly used web framework or in Firefox mobile itself. This site for example doesn't have the issue in the desktop version of the site, only the mobile one.
Me too. Looks like I got redirected two or three times there. Not sure if it's a bug or marketing crap.
Works fine for me on Chrome
Also hit the back button trap with Firefox on Android.
Ew
Is this an ad for Chrome or are you disputing the comment?
I realize chrome is a sensitive subject here, but I'm just narrowing down the problem :)
