Cease and Desist of Facebook and Instagram - Barinsta

Are all these recent cease and desist letters the early sign of a company in its death throes?

One can only hope…

Two things about this notice;

1. “Facebook takes the protection of the user experience very seriously, and it is committed to keeping its products safe for users to interact and share information.”

Only some lawyers (not accusing the entire profession) could write this with a straight face after all the revelations about Facebook and Instagram over the years. You just be eternally high on something to use these words in this context.

2. I wish I could see an alternate reality where The Pirate Bay people respond to this notice (like how they did to various RIAA and MPAA notices). That’s the kind of response this one deserves.

I’m always taken aback by the extreme verbal aggressiveness in letters like these. And then ending it with “Very truly yours”, as if it was a love letter or something. Shameful.

What was Barinsta? I couldn't find any information on that.

This makes me wonder….

Would this tool be a candidate for a cease and desist from facebook?
