Electricity production must increase significantly in order to meet the demand from EV (and from people ditching gas boilers, which what the government is pushing) , and my prediction is that it won't keep up. The nuclear program is in tatters and the current situation does not exactly fill me with confidence...
It's going to be an interesting 10 years.
But yes, it could be mismanaged. Equally EV's do a great virtual storage grid that if done right would smooth things out nicely energy/demand production.
So whilst energy production important, being able to store that and use off-peak produced energy to come ontop during peak times is always one area that can never get enough love.
I do for-see some interesting tariffs and business models and the lines between car maker and energy storage will blur.
Heck in ten years time we will be using fusion over fission, at least I recall that being said for the last 20-30 years or so.
So perhaps, just be Enron mindful.
