All of the hand-wringing over population decline is about the continuance of an economic model based on cancerous growth (i.e, without limit, until the host dies). The economists and politicians can't conceive of trying to restructure the economic model to the lived reality (see also: global warming); the lived reality must conform itself to the economic model.
