I wonder when insurances will offer discounts if you install one of those cameras voluntarily. And then, when the governments feel the need to make "drivers and communities more safe".

There are lots of products like that already, idk about cameras but some black boxes type devices register your acceleration/deceleration patterns, how many Gs you take through corners, &c.

I've just seen an ad for one of them on social media this morning. It's mostly targeted to young drivers or people who've been caught DUI / recklessly driving.

I worked with the founders of https://www.insurethebox.com/ on the project they did after that business exited. There are many similar startups.
