Ask HN: How do you track the books you’re reading?

So I’ve started doing that as well and I’ve noticed that it had a beneficial side effect. Now when I open the book I never manage to exactly find where I left it because I don’t exactly memorise where I’ve stopped. So I open up the book where I thought that I’ve stopped and start reading. Sometimes I overshoot and have to go back a few and start reading somewhere one or two pages before the actual page I’ve stopped reading the last time. This helps me to find my way into the story in a better way since I’m already in the zone when I get to the new part.

To remember book titles years later, or even months later, to revisit, or just to share with an interested friend or family member.

As a repository to clip highlighted text or notes and/or annotations.

I have been using `goodreads` over the past decade, but the app / website has largely languished, and is frustrating, especially the slow load times.
