Most important thing for me about my booster today was that I got a sticker this time. They didn't have any for my first two jabs. Yay.

I am not sure if this is supposed to be a joke or not, which is funny in itself... because I do know many *adults* who were cheerful about the sticker. Gave no thought about its effectiveness nor safety, and the sticker was the highlight of that day.

If we are going to have to get it yearly, you will get a sticker every year!

I mean obviously the reduced likelihood of dying is good, but I did have an appointment, so I went in expecting the reduced likelihood of dying.

But the sticker, that's not necessarily going to happen. It might not have today except I told the medic doing the paperwork that I was excited to get a sticker and he said something like "Oh, we ran out of stickers. Hang on, let me check another room" and went off to get some.

In fact, after the sticker they were like "Oh, we ran out of cards. Huh. Never mind, it's going on your records so it'll be in the app". I just checked and it isn't on there (NHS app) yet, but maybe it updates over night.

This is good news as long as we can keep up with the variants. This shows that the booster is very effective against the delta variant, but also suggests that I'll likely be getting booster shots for the rest of my life.

The booster going around now are the same as the first shot, they are the same effectiveness (which is still very high) against the Delta variant. After 6 to 8 months, neutralizing antibodies wane so this ups them again. The multivalent booster shots are still in clinical trials.

Right. I had read that it was still effective, but less effective than it was against the alpha variant. Effective enough that it did not justify reworking the vaccines to specifically target it.

I feel like we are on the verge of giant leaps in medical possibilities, similar to the discovery of penicillin.

It's odd to me how endless boosters as this suggests, is heralded as a success. While they do reduce severe outcomes for the person that takes them, it's a fact that the vaccinated still spread COVID. The false confidence may even be worse. That means we only accomplished protecting the recipient, making it a personal choice rather than a public health issue. Doing that by revving up people's immune system every 6 months, as COVID still reigns. Israel is talking about their 4th shot, and getting on a 6 month perpetual injection cycle. I'm not interested in that myself. The real answer is that changes are required to virus-proof our economy as much as possible for today and tomorrow. While I decide if my children receive vaccines, the government is not my dad.

I'm looking for a newfound focus on treatments if the vaccines can't afford sterilizing immunity. I'm just not going to get the flu shot every year, nor the COVID shot. If they mandate it, I'll leave the country or go live off grid.

A lot of the mandate-fans will be left dumbfounded as their children are being shot up by the authorities endlessly. It's one thing that the majority is vaccinated and now thinks the rest should also have to do it, which won't end this pandemic as this data proves. It's another thing as everyone's children get their own mandates. Injecting the latest cocktails into little sweetie will change a lot of minds, just may be too late by then. The road to tyranny is paved with good intentions. This reaction to COVID is going to have longer lasting implications than the disease.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. I'm going off the assumption that you don't realize you're completely brainwashed. Everything I said is absolutely a fact. You are completely foolish if you put your children on a perpetual vaccine schedule for their entire lives. Good luck with the consequences to that. These vaccines are a trade off for your body. You can't rev up an immune system like this over and over and expect zero consequences. Not to mention evolutionary pressure on the virus caused by the narrow band of protection these vaccines afford. You realize that Mu is supposedly immune to all the current vaccines, right? Go on, inject your loved ones with a little bit more. Father of the year. Refuses to step out of line and embrace critical thinking.

Absolutely zero FUD was spread by me here. It's just not your mainstream view that makes you feel good with your tribe. What I said was harmless, we need to make changes to how we do operate our economy. The only mandates I'm for is mandating that employers keep everyone that can be at home- at home. What happened to your environmentalism? Cutting carbon emissions? Just playing the fool for the wealthy landed-gentry class that owns all the commercial real estate? Can't wait to burn up some fossil fuels on your commute to work again with millions others? Selfishly get back to your old life and please your economic masters by injecting yourself and incredibly sadly, your poor innocent children with big pharma's latest, which you cannot sue over. While endorsing destroying the planet. Rather than coming down hard on the big corporations and wealthy that want you on a lifetime vaccine treadmill. Brave stance. And I'm the problem here speaking nothing but the truth. Yes, that's obvious.

You'll never beat COVID with these vaccines. You need sterilizing immunity to do that. Keep on with your dance for your economic masters, and injecting innocent children just so you can sit back and remain ignorant of the reality of the situation. You called me the problem, consider that you are the problem and don't realize it yet. This is a very dark path, a tyrannical world where the government has the authority to decide on who gets shot up with what from some random for-profit pharmaceutical company.. and that's without even considering the health consequences. A path that won't end the pandemic. You realize you can't vaccinate the entire globe right? These vaccines wouldn't work anyway, and this isn't a national issue.

And hey, on your claim that I'm the reason we can't beat this nonsense. I've sacrificed greatly in my personal life and financially to avoid any meaningful contact for nearly 2 years now. I'm not hurting anyone. Never had COVID, never will if I keep this up. This virus, among many others, wouldn't exist on the planet if everyone had done what I've done. I won't vaccinate and lie to people about this situation, just so you can keep running around as you want to. If you weren't so selfish, this would be over. And on top of it all, you're grossly misinformed. You're the problem. Wait until the next virus is out circulating, people like you will have us all on boosters for 5 viruses, every 6 months. Absolute lunacy.

I wish the report showed what the re-infection result (over time) from having had Covid turned out to be.

The data suggests a regularly scheduled set of boosters over time?

Is this because the vaccines are short acting? Is it because they are not targeting the virus properly? Or is this because of virus mutations?

If we had better vaccines targeted to the current mutations, would they require so many boosters?

When will we get a new vaccine that is targeted more to the current mutations circulating?

I think that it's both -- immunity is not permanent and, while still effective, the vaccine is not as effective against delta.

In the end its going to be very much like influenza. We get yearly flu shots primarily because the flu is different variants every year, and secondarily because over time immunity lowers.

Looks like boosters help. Something I am still not clear on though is that I got COVID then got the Fauci Ouchie. Do I need a booster?
