I’m posting this again (previously posted
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28507916) because there has been a lot of development on the story since yesterday. This issue got a lot of attention and a hot debate sparked which included questioning the TC39 process as it stands. The issue was later closed and further comments disallowed for reasons of it being too heated.
Me personally am a little disappointed by the reaction of the TC39 members here. The way I see it is that a huge interest sparked around a topic and instead of embracing and celebrating this interest, the member decided to shut it down.
