The site is by the Boston Globe group and the author is Gary Taubes. I wouldn’t call it blog spam.

It got to the front page quickly because it’s a well written article with a thought provoking premise. It feels like a good fit for HN.

statnews is a decent quality website for biotech news and information. Not blogspam. This is an opinion piece and is bad tho
