I like this idea of all the comments being

— thoughtfully written enough to publish

— timeless enough to reuse

— unified enough (on the same topic) to publish together

The only downside I see is that a lot of people are going to try to do the same without it being justified

Timeless is tough, this is from 2007:

"For javascript on the client you need nothing other than the browser you already have and the Rhino book"

The specifics are not timeless.

The concept may be timeless.

The positive energy that made me do this is definitely timeless.

I'm still here.

Thanks for reminding me why, sorokod.

Best wishes, edw519

Thanks, omarhaneef. People like you (many years later) are why I did this in the first place. :-)

Hi, thank you for taking time to compile this.

What about you link back to the original threads, so people can see the comments in context? And also put a link to your HN profile.

Interesting! Reminds me of James Clear and the way he used blog posts as raw material for his book.

PKM geek-out time: Edw519 has been using HN as a tool for thought. Producing intermediate packets in the form of comments. If those comments were more interlinked, it would be closer to a Zettelkasten.

Late to the party. Only just got round to reading!

I dunno when it happened but I linked coding to money instead of to enjoyment of coding.

If you ever see this edw519 thank you for the reminder :)

Your welcome, corobo. Thanks for the reminder about the reminder. I believe it's as true as ever after all these years.
