On the other hand, I’ve seen the other side of this. Leadership makes an issue out of something the engineers perceive as insignificant and the “wrong problem to solve”, nobody speaks up.
The problem gets fixed, engineers feel resentful but leadership feels triumphant that they told the right story and that they rallied the troops to get a problem solved.
Being able to tell a story is the real super power here.
Getting other people to listen to you is a good skill to have or master.
