Show HN: I made a new landing page for my startup

- on a 4k screen the hero section looks bugged, being very close to the bottom of the page (instead of being centered or at the top).
- the buttons don't have "cursor: pointer;" to them, so they don't seem clickable.
Overall it looks very messy, I would recommend starting from a premade page and just changing the text/images.
I guess I could say 'embed browsers in your web app' but I have no idea if that will make more sense to people.
Suggestions for better copy?
Anyway superpowers is a high bar. It invites skepticism given your vested interests.
Or to put it another way, “Superpowers? I will be the judge of that.”
I'm not actually kidding. Just looking for solutions
Then what problem it solves.
Then why I should care.
It’s a funnel.
Don’t waste people’s time.
That’s how to build trust.
Trust is the cornerstone of business relationships.
I guess you mean it's wasting people's time if it takes them a while to figure out what it is
Thank you for your reaction
That's most people.
But you are wasting your time talking to people for whom your product is not a good fit too.
And again, that's most people.
If "superpowers" gets people who have no use for your product to spend more time on your site, that's not doing anything productive for your business. The faster you get to "no" with them, the better.
You sound as if you've had startup before. I guess you must have done some sort of marketing for that.
Teh niche aspect is definitely a big advantage. And if you're suggesting that a website, or posting to PH, or HN, or Reddit (or my other customary marketing channels) are not good for this niche product...well I would disagree simply because they've been very effective. My comment/post engagement there has driven in-bound leads that have led to paying customers. So while I do really appreciate your contributions here, it is slightly off the mark with regard to marketing being 'wasting time' talking to people who have no use for it. Because these people on HN, PH and Reddit have very definitely had a use for ViewFinder that they're willing to pay for. Sure, it's a wide net, but I haven't had any reach outs from people that had no idea what it was.
Moreover, everybody emailing me has had a clear idea what it could do for them, and they were correct. Amazingly. Whether that's down to my marketing prowess--hahah...or down to people being so dang intelligent. Let's just call it split between.
At the same time, I think I can enlarge/accelerate/amplify my 'marketing funnel' by constructing a dedicated outbound strategy--which I'm sort of in the process of doing.
It's OK you were wrong about that stuff, you just don't have the experience I do with it. I'm no expert but I guess I just knew more than you about this--because this is my business. It's OK you didn't know anything about it, but I still appreciate your contributions.
In this outbound case, I do very much think I want to minimize wasting time by focusing on customers for whom it's not a fit. And really laser-focused targeting clearly. So, yeah. Thank you, tho, I appreciated your comments. Very good energy for me! :)
I should probably just pay someone to do a a landing page for me or use the template or something.
I have posted demos of this product here over time. Previously, I mostly utlized my (no longer extant) Google Cloud for Startups Credits to fund the demo machines (often 96 core, > 300 Gb RAM machines in a US region) to soak up the HN load. They performed well and I've seen periods of 300, 600 or 900 concurrent virtual browsers running on a machine like that (not sure if they were all active, but people had created that many at one time, and the responsiveness of the most recent one was still fine).
In other words, I've used posting to Show HN a lot previously to stress test my virtual browser software, let people try it free, find bugs, and just generally get feedback and promote. But I've never really spent much time on marketing, and that has to be my focus now.
Before this website revamp, I had a very 'retro' looking site (that some of you will no doubt still prefer)[0], but now I've updated it to display a more "current" landing page look. But...it's still amateurish compared to a "professional" landing page. Still it's the best I can do for now. I'm happy with it.
So while I am not showing an actual interactive demo of some cool tech (like I have every other time I posted VF to show HN), I'm showing off the next phase of my business story development. I hope you like it and just know that if you have feedback on the landing page, I might make it, those changes, but not for a while. I've just finished a marathon effort to create this, and I'm going to be taking a break from landing page stuff, while I focus on other things.
But I want to show my appreciation for (and respect of the rules of) the community by saying that I plan to set up a 24-hour demo on a smaller machine (funded without the GC for Startups Credits) at some point in September, so if anyone from HN emails me[1] with "HN Perk <number>" in the subject before I make that go live, then I will email them with the credentials where they can (for a day at least) try out all the Pro version of VF has to offer. So there is something you will be able to play with, I just need to schedule that. For now, it's just a brand new landing page with Stripe payment links. For <number> please include the number of sections on the landing page (just so I know you actually had a look).
Also, since last time the VF product has enjoyed a few significant updates: seamless embedding of VF in an iframe (to allow seamless embedding of any 3rd-party content, for example), and much better quality viewport streaming (the video quality is better, and more adaptive). These things were developed in direct response to customer requests.
Also, if there are any Product Hunt-ers here, I just posted it over there[2] today (Sunday), and I would really appreciate any support you can give.
