Can someone help clarify why you might use alisp as opposed to ECL [1]? ECL is LGPL and I can't figure out what the license of alisp is by looking at the source code.

That would be MIT, me fix.

Don't know, aLisp is not very mature and probably not as fast.

I suspect it's easier to hack on and customize though.
