I was happy when I could solve it by downgrading to a Microsoft 3500 mouse with a custom 2.4 Ghz USB dongle (no bluetooth).
In 20 years of buying Laptops PCs and Macs there hasn't been a computer that didn't have its issues (except for the 2012 Macbook pro), so I decided I'll be happy with my new setup despite this issue.
Funny you mention that machine because that's still my daily driver! Honestly that's probably been the best laptop I've ever owned, actually the best machine I've ever owned! Sadly, it can't upgrade to Big Sur so I know it's days are numbered. I'm anxious to see what becomes available with the M1X hardware. I'm hoping I can get another year because then I'll be able to get 3rd-gen hardware and that's when Apple usually knocks it out of the park.
I'm now waiting for the 16'' Mac Book pro!
>Some USB 3 devices generate radio interference in the 2.4GHz frequency, and this can have an adverse effect on both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as they operate on this frequency.
