Why does quitting your job still feel so hard?

I'm unhappy at my job and yesterday I decided that I am going to quit my job at the end of the year and work on my startup idea full time. This morning I woke up in a panic of what the hell am I thinking.
After I calmed down a bit I realized I hadn't actually done anything yet. I sat down and thought about it for a bit and realized that I am not in a good environment for myself. I could just get another job, but I think I'm ready to start working for myself. It is something that I've wanted to do my entire career.
Now I've got experience, and I have enough savings that I can take some risk. I've got a little over 100 days until I need to give notice. So I am going to spend a little bit of time everyday working on my plan.
I realized that I was allowing myself to be trapped in an unhappy situation. I complain about work a lot, and I'm tired of this being my daily experience. I want to go back to designing and building quality software for people who care.
I think it's hard to go through quitting because I feel like I failed to push through the barriers and couldn't achieve what I needed to thrive. I want to learn from my mistakes and improve my ability to establish better relationships and communicate expectations. I kept thinking I needed to do that where I was, but now I know I need to be in a more supportive environment to grow.
I have been wanting to do my own thing for a long time. I have ideas for offering tech training and finding my own clients. I believe that people are most creative and productive when they are happy and have healthy relationships with the people around them. I want to try building a business that treats people this way, while guiding them in developing valuable skills and progressing in their career.
