I suppose it was inevitable that this method is cheaper than a pure hardware solution. A fast 680x0 can probably be emulated directly in CPLD but it's much less flexible than pushing all the emulation into a pure software solution. The board is a good way to interface the Amiga trapdoor slot to the Raspberry Pi which is so cheap and cheerful that you can easily dedicate it to this single purpose.

(pedantic warning) A 68k will not fit in a CPLD, but will fit into a modest FPGA.

I admire people pushing projects like this.

Its hard to put in words, 28+yrs later, the hardware still working and so many people being aaround it to make such an initiative worthwhile… i’m just eternally grateful to the person who introduced me to this amazing platform back in the days.

Looking foward to putting one in my A1200 as well.

Oh and finally the needed excuse to get yet ANOTHER pi too!

Some super interesting posts on the site[1][2], but the linked one seems to be more like a teaser announcement. Am I missing something?

Yes it is kind of a teaser, but from the creator of pistorm who started the A1200 version this week. LJ's This Week in Pistorm blog series is just a roundup of happenings in the pistorm discord for those that don't 'do' discord. This week, Claude shared his teaser photos that he'd started laying out the Pistorm32 for A1200 which has been more or less the first question people ask when joining the community... "Is there an A1200 version yet?"

This pleases me
