The Pyret site has a section "Why not just use Java, Python, Racket, OCaml, or Haskell?" https://www.pyret.org/pyret-code/ that does not mention Haskell after the title. I wonder why Haskell is not being used in the course.
I think it is aimed at undergraduates learning for the first time.
