Ask HN: How do you consume stuff on HN while still being productive?

I don't habitually scan HN for interesting content, because doing that opens up rabbitholes, and that's a huge time and attention sink if you need to get other things done.

I mostly use HN to keep up with my industry, since it moves so fast. What upcoming services and tools can I now leverage today? Also: what services/projects have gone bust and died because they couldn't sustain themselves?

Classic HN strat: read the comments to determine if the link is worth opening.

Bonus if you only read the top comments for the top posts... and also skip extra long comments that are off topic.

I only read HN on mobile.

Stuff that seems worth checking out is started or the link-shared for investigation when online.
