Can Facebook Make Virtual Reality Happen for Real This Time?

I think Facebook more or less killed it with closing off their ecosystem. They treated VR like Texas Instruments treat their high tech products, build up barriers for entry for quality control.

It is nice for trying it out and you don't care much about money. But for me it faded quickly. That said, I am jaded because I had a Rift S. Decent device, bad software.
