South Park creators say they’ve reached agreement to buy Casa Bonita

“…they have big plans for the restaurant in addition to the food improvements. They also told Polis they plan on diving off the cliff to celebrate the purchase.”

A fitting resurrection for a staple in the South Park universe.

If this works out maybe Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland should buy Shoney’s

Wait the restaurant is real? Amazing... Remember my surprise when I found out that human centipede is a real movie...

I never knew this was a real thing. It looks absolutely horrible and I would totally go there.

As a UK-native I've seen that episode enough that I immediately remembered the restaurant, but hadn't realized the chain was real!

> … to buy Casa Bonita, the Mexican theme restaurant made famous across the world by one of the show's episodes.

I travel to Denver for work quite a bit, so of course we went to Casa Bonita for a colleague’s leaving party. I actually had a good time. The food was awful but the waitstaff were great and fun, and the place had a nice atmosphere.

You gotta be in the right silly mood, but Casa Bonita can be great. I’m glad it will survive.

I still remember from the late 1970s eating sopaipillas as a kid and then going around to the little grottos where you could get little toys from people in costume (like witches etc). It's burned in my memory. Amazingly, I've never seen the SP episode.
