My dog has been stockpiling for years. She's not worried. I'm more concerned what the old folks will put on the feet of their walkers.

Same. We have a strategic supply basket full of tennis balls for our three mouth breathers.
My dog won’t play with used balls. They have to be new or he’s not interested. We keep a bag of “used” balls and drop them off at the dog park after awhile and they seem to get used.
