Google and Apple campuses are far from the WUI. Their biggest concern would be toxic air pollution levels. So if these folks were operating purely out of self interest they’d be working on better air purification tech (both personal devices and building-wide systems.)

And some of the most important tech is stuff that’s fairly iterative. It’s things like better modeling fire behavior, enabling pilots to fly in mountainous terrain in the dark, detecting fires earlier, etc.
