With Covid-19, World Health Organisation's Fall from Grace Is Complete

It has almost no mention of what WHO has actually done wrong. The couple of things it does mention are:
1) That the WHO had published a report in Dec 2019 suggesting some measures that could be taken in a pandemic, which did not contain a lockdown, yet a couple of months later in response to COVID spreading unchecked suggested a lockdown.
2) The WHO is recommending “costly” vaccines over potential treatments.
That’s it. The article has nothing else of substance.
#1 is an obviously ridiculous complaint because the WHO and scientists affiliated with it publish a lot of reports all the time. Publishing a report doesn’t mean that the WHO is required to absolutely stick to the results of every report they publish. In fact, this would be impossible, because the WHO almost certainly publishes reports that occasionally have incompatible or contradictory outcomes. And finally, even if they were somehow honor bound to follow the results of reports published by them, it’s a good thing that they are able to pivot to suggest other solutions in the face of an actual problem that shows characteristics that were not identified in the academic research.
#2 is pathetic. Of course the WHO recommends vaccines that have been shown to have over 90% effectiveness over “potential treatments” that have not been shown to have any effectiveness whatsoever.
Finally, there’s some weird point where a WHO scientist recommends India doesn’t use ivermectin but the US government approved some other medicine for something. I’m not sure what a single scientist making a recommendation to their government and a different country making a different decision about a completely different drug has anything to do with the WHO.
I don't think private funding is the problem, the problem is centralisation of power. So to save itself WHO should denounce its power to issue medical guidelines for the world.
Any influence (not power) they may have comes exclusively from trust. No trust == no influence.
Second, WHO cannot "denounce" itself, for the simple reason it would be against its overt mission.
The actual solution is to ensure integrity of the guidance that they are providing, which is necessary step to earn back the trust they have undermined.
When governments can trust the organization is science based and not steered by politics it can perform its mission, which is to provide guidance to countries and organisations that don't have resources to do it themselves.
