Noob here... Would it be possible to do some sort of provisioned storage over PCI-E? So rather than each module having its own M2 drive, there is a PCIe connection on the backplane back to an SSD Raid.
This will almost certainly not make sense economically, but it seems a lot around RPi clustering doesn't make sense from a performance/$ perspective.
