Freenode Is Dead. (Again.)

netsplit.de has classed Freenode as historic.

Freenode's own Webchat client blocks all users, you're unable to use SASL authentication within the webclient: Closing link: [You must use TLS/SSL and authenticate via SASL to connect to freenode please visit https://irc.com/login/sso in order to create an account. SASL Configuration: https://freenode.net/kb/answer/sasl - Webchat: https://webchat.freenode.net/]

Effectively, Freenode is accountwalled.

This is the second time that Freenode has appeared shut down to netsplit.de, coincidentally, right as Freenode's user counts were about to dip below the next highest 'competing' network. (First Libera, with the ircd switchover, then OFTC with auth requirements.)

I'm surprised their bot isn't registered. I would have thought netsplit's activity was officially sanctioned and kept track of so they didn't get banned with other bots.
