We will have more and more "complicated years" but never do anything.
The problem is that there is no clear, tengible danger (such as an asteroid that will hit Earth in 20 years) and therefore no incentive to change things.
Worse, I strongly believe that even the asteroid wild not make us do anything. Maybe if it was 5 years away (imminent danger to living prople), but anything more than 50 or 60 years wild be tossed aside.
Although maybe nothing will really happen, humans will just suffer the consequences without really changing anything.
I'm pretty confident politics will just completely disengage from carbon problems, and let lobbyists run the show. Because if that happens, I don't know what the public will do: doing nothing and keep feeling guilty?
I guess the same thing will happen with COVID and masks. The governments will act with restrictions, people will criticize and disagree.
