Spiritual Bypassing

I left spiritual practice due to its hollow nature. These masters provide endless insight into the nature of the problem, but when it comes to actually helping to cure the ailment they always seem to fall short. Bypassing is just a result of a practitioner putting all of this effort into spiritual practice and having nothing to show for it. Given the sunken cost they detach from reality and try to present a brave face. The only thing that works is dealing with the problem at the root. Face the pain yourself and stop looking for quick fixes or someone in black robes/turtle neck to solve your problems.

> Authentic spirituality is not some little flicker or buzz of knowingness, not a psychedelic blast-through or a mellow hanging-out on some exalted plane of consciousness, not a bubble of immunity, but a vast fire of liberation, an exquisitely fitting crucible and sanctuary, providing both heat and light for what must be done.

Strikes me as gatekeeping.

The spiritual industry has been taken over by what I call the Positivity Mafia-- always be happy, cheerful, never face your problems.

The problem is compounded by the Law of Attraction Gang, who claim that *any* negative thought will attract untold misery.

And so you have a bunch of people sharing spiritual memes on Facebook with nothing original to say
