Who Will Pay to Protect Tech Giants from Rising Seas?

This was very targeted at getting tech giants to pay for the communal infrastructure in their city.

It doesn't (to me) seem obvious that the companies have an obligation beyond the fact that they can afford to fund it and it's generally good for society. Common infra seems the exact thing governments should pay for - not corps.

Should the government collect more taxes to fund this? Probably. Good luck collecting more taxes though.

They were all warned long ago about glacial melt. You cannot stop the ocean. Am I really supposed to be concerned about the bilionaire property owners, NPR? Here's the winning strategy: stop building on the coastline so then in 50-200 years when this is an actual issue, we have already moved on. If you waste any resources trying to "fight back" against the ocean, they better be YOUR OWN funds, not the peoples.

Ok IF you are really going to try and battle the ocean then the way to do it is to go all-in and move your high rises into the water. Then you can take your yachts to work.
