What's this? A company that's blinded by its current profit margins to see the shifting tide in its industry?

How is Toyota saying something is impractical different than Tesla lobbying congress to push for something that benefits themselves and is actually impractical? There are two sides to this. Toyota vehicles still outlast every vehicle on the planet. Tesla has no proven track record for longevity. If I have to buy 2 Teslas for the lifetime of one Toyota that manufacturing footprint is going to cancel out a large part of the benefits of going electric to begin with.

What shift? Electric isn't viable for most people still. If it was you wouldn't need to do anything to get Toyota to switch. The fact they have to put all these regulations in place and force people to accept electric is telling enough.

The top selling vehicle in the US in the F-150. There is no replacement EV that can come close to offering what the ICE F-150 can.
