Had an in-law get bad COVID, and he's been not quite there any more ever since getting out of the hospital. His cognitive control clearly declined and he became mean as shit.

Its a rather bit complicated and personal, and with large financial implications. Let's just say his diminished faculties led him to let down his guard, lose control, and reveal who he truly was--a low-life scumbag who has been working to swindle the elderly out of inheritances for years and years using sweet words, warm smiles, and emotional manipulation.
