This World of Ours (2014) [pdf]

I was very fortunate to be in a class taught by James Mickens in my undergrad. As he does in this article, he shared his wealth of cybersecurity experience but presented in a very entertaining way.

If you like this paper, he also has many other stories from CS academia that is approachable and fun to read[1]. One of my favorite talks by Mickens is a 30-minute roast of Javascript and web security[2].

"Also note that if a police officer ever tries to give you a speeding ticket, do not tell him that you are the Kwisatz Haderach and You Can See Where No Bene Gesserit Can See and you cannot see a speeding ticket. This defense will not hold up in court, and the only “spice” that you will find in prison is made of mouthwash and fermented oranges."

Words to live by.

From 2014. A classic.

posted over and over again, annually basically, from various places around the net because Microsoft took down his blog files off research.microsoft.com......

I really enjoy Mickens' humor. I can only criticize him for not producing more of it. :-)

This guy isn't as funny as he thinks he is.
